Nick is a world-class executive, investor, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning expert.

As an executive, Nick focuses on high-impact initiatives in chaotic and complex environments. His speciality is using diverse, unconventional, data-driven methods to create novel solutions for the world's most complex, high-value problems; he loves to see and discover solutions that others don't know how to find. Nick implements these solutions with high-impact, agile-based operational and tactical plans. Nick is a self-starter; give him a problem and some guidelines and he will create the analytics and resources to deliver solutions without further assistance. Nick loves people and he is an ultra "high energy" leader; he loves helping team-mates discover their most valuable skills and giving them the resources and pathways to bring their talents to fruition.

Most recently, Nick was the founder and Principal of STK Management, an ASIC-licensed, private, multi-centimillion dollar investment management firm. At STK, Nick pioneered a suite of ML-based quantitative trading and portfolio management strategies for a small group of multi-centimillionaires, billionaires and family offices. These strategies operated in every major market around the globe, covering thousands of different financial instruments, across all asset classes. As well as being the key person for all trading and risk management decisions, Nick was also the responsible manager for the firm. Nick had to ensure competent management of the firm through a wide range of professional and regulatory audits and responsibilities with entities such as ASIC, the SEC and the MAS. He is well versed in the legal / regulatory systems of Australia, England & Wales, the United States and Singapore and has significant experience in the development and management of tax-efficient offshore entities in the Cayman Islands. Nick also successfully applied for -- and managed participation in -- the Australian Government's Research & Development Tax Incentive program for promising new technologies. As well as his close personal relationships with his high-profile clients, Nick has first-class relationships with all leading investment banks and a select range of family offices, major law firms, private equity firms and hedge funds.

Nick is a world-class machine learning engineer and technologist. At STK, Nick was responsible for all technical decisions spanning hardware, software, data vendors and third-party integrations and systems. His particular expertise is artificial intelligence - especially "deep learning" with natural language, tabular and time-series data. Nick is deeply interested in the theoretical, practical and ethical aspects of machine learning / AI and computer science more broadly. From his machine learning background, Nick is most proficient in Python, R and Mathematica but is also competent in other systems and scripting languages. He is a huge fan of functional programming and has a side interest in functional languages such as Haskell, Lisp, and APL. Nick wants as many people as possible to have access to technical development and loves to help under-represented founders enhance their technical and business skills to bring their talents to the world stage.

Prior to founding STK, Nick was Head of Trading in Asia for Tibra Capital -- one of the world's leading high-frequency derivatives trading and market-making firms. In his earlier career, Nick was a proprietary trader at Macquarie Bank where he led and ran a wide range of quantitative and "special situations" trading strategies in their London and Sydney offices. While at Macquarie, Nick led the technical and business development of an entirely new business line through firm-wide approval: Macquarie's dual-listed, cross-border arbitrage business. Nick has also worked for Goldman Sachs in their Special Situations Group in London and, prior to that, at Morgan Stanley.

Nick has also consulted for a wide range of clients. In finance and markets, he has advised top-tier management consulting and private equity firms as well as a wide range of ultra-high net worth individuals and corporates. In his scientific and broader consulting practice, Nick has advised government ministers and business leaders as well as donating his time to help charitable foundations and healthcare providers solve key problems.

Nick is a proud honors graduate of the London School of Economics (LSE) where he was the Peter Bence Scholar; a full, three-year academic scholarship.
